Method
Shake the whiskey, triple sec, lime juice and blue curacao with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass; the blue turns green against the amber of the whisky.
About this drink
Generally credited to the Ginza bartender Kazuo Ueda, who entered it in a Scotch whisky cocktail competition in 1986. He had found earlier that blue curacao turns green against whisky, and he named the drink for the green valleys of the spirit's homeland.
