Method
Salt the rim of the glass. Shake the tequila, triple sec and lime juice with ice until very cold, strain into the glass and hang a lime wheel on the edge.
About this drink
Accounts differ, with several Mexican claims from the late 1930s and 1940s. The steadier clue is structural: it belongs to the Daisy family of spirit, orange liqueur and citrus — and margarita is simply Spanish for daisy.
