Method

Fill a tall glass with ice, pour in the vodka, top with orange juice and stir briefly. Finish with a slice of orange.

About this drink

Vodka and orange juice, with almost no technique to hide behind. Accounts of the name differ; the story usually told is of American oil workers in the Persian Gulf stirring vodka into a tin of juice with the tool to hand. The name was already in print by the late 1940s.
