Method

Put a large cube in a rocks glass, build the gin, Campari and sweet red vermouth over it, stir until cold and lay an orange slice on top.

About this drink

The story goes that in Florence around 1919 Count Camillo Negroni asked for his Americano with gin instead of soda, and the drink took his name. The detail is disputed; the equal-parts frame has not changed.
